The Dog Knowledge opened our doors over a decade ago and quickly became the Southeast's go-to place where dogs stay, play, and train at our three-acre facility located off Wendover Road in the heart of Charlotte.
VISIT OUR 10,000 SQ. FT.
DOG TRAINING CENTER
Unlike most dog trainers who don't encourage you to visit their dog training facility (most likely in their home), we encourage you to stop by and visit our inviting 10,000 sq. ft. dog training center. Our certified dog trainers utilize Positive Reinforcement training rather than avoidance training which is shock collar training.
BOARD AND TRAIN PACKAGES
Dogs enrolled in one of our training programs live at The Dog Knowledge where we can give them absolute consistency throughout their time with us. Studies show that dogs learn best when trained in multiple short daily sessions as opposed to one long session a day. We also know that dogs learn from watching one another. Our program has been designed so that each training dog works individually with a trainer in multiple 15- to 20-minute sessions throughout the day.
FREE REFRESHERS FOR A LIFETIME
During your dog's stay with us, we provide you with email updates, photos, videos, etc., showing your dog's progress. At the end of your dog's training program, you will attend a "go home" or graduation where we work to teach you what your dog has learned. After your dog returns home, we schedule an in-home visitation to work additional hours with you and your dog. And the best news is that once your dog completes training, we offer a lifetime of refreshers free of charge twice a month.
THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A
WELL-TRAINED DOG
Training and obedience enable your dog to develop a clearer understanding of the behaviors that result in their being invited to join more fun family activities, trips to the park, walks around the block, or hiking in the mountains. When you have a dog with manners and obedience, they are granted more outings and energy-burning activities because they are a pleasure to be around.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT DOG TRAINER
Your puppy is a member of your family who will be a part of your family for the next 15+ years. Choosing the right trainer and the right training facility is a decision you shouldn’t take lightly. Be informed. Ask tough questions. We encourage you to personally visit where your dog will be trained. While most dog trainers operate from their personal homes, your dog is going to spend a significant amount of time there. Make certain that a dog trainer’s home meets all the health and safety guidelines required by city, county, and state and that the trainer is specifically insured for dogs should there be a tragedy.
